OK Guys, I apologize for the lack of info on this radio. I buy a lot of my items at estate auctions. Many times, items are put in boxes and sold by the box, called box lots. A lot of times I end up with items I'm not familiar with. If I see something in a box I do know something about, then I bid on it. I bought such a box lot probably close to a year ago, I saw an old cb radio I knew came from a Lincoln and I bought the box. This radio and several others were all together. Yea, I'm that far behind. Took me several hours to find out what this radio came in. As you know, there's absolutely no info on this radio except for a serial number and that offered no help at all. Anyway, I never test tube radios and I've bought 100's of them. This thing exist and just about anything that could be wrong, can be fixed and that's the buyers job. This way, it can't be returned. I listed this one for parts or not working. If it does, man you got lucky, I'm sure it would bring more if I did state it works. The dial to change the stations does work perfect. As you can see, it's about the cleanest radio for it's age I've ever seen and I didn't clean it, it's the way I bought it other than I did clean the chrome. The plate has a little pitting on it, mainly down around the controls, very difficult to show it in a picture but should give you an idea of how little and not very obvious. It is missing the knobs as you can see. It also has one of the holders for the back cover broken off too as noted in one of the pics. Just not much more I can tell you, I'm sure you guys know a lot more about it than I do. If it doesn't sell, I'll probably sell the radio separate from the plate since it's probably what more buyers are looking for but as a picker, I do like things to stay together that belong together. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. Visit my store for more vintage items.

Seat Leon Cup Racer revealed

Mon, 06 May 2013

Volkswagen’s Spanish daughter company, Seat, has unveiled the new Leon Cup race car. Set to get a public airing at this week’s Woethersee fan meet in Austria, the new front-wheel drive hatchback runs a heavily tuned version of parent company Audi’s EA888 turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine developing about 325 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. In standard guise, drive is channeled through a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

New Ford KA Concept revealed

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

New Ford KA Concept revealed The current Ford KA really hasn’t been an overwhelming success for Ford – unlike the original KA – and there was a point where Ford were considering scrapping the KA altogether. But common sense has prevailed in a car buying world that is seeing more and more downsizing, so Ford is planning a new KA – expected to arrive for the 2015 model year – but, unlike the current KA, it won’t be a shared venture with the Fiat 500. Instead, it seems Ford are planning on using the previous generation Fiesta platform to underpin the new KA and offer a proper Ford city car rather than a second-rate Fiat 500.

Concept Car of the Week: Mazda RX500 (1970)

Thu, 30 Jan 2014

Developed by the Toyo Kogyo Company's advanced design and engineering team, the Mazda RX-500 was described as a ‘mobile test bed for high-speed safety'. Looking at its design, the team's childlike enthusiasm has shone through, resulting in a very cool concept.  From the rakish front to the wraparound windscreen and on to the bread van rear, everything communicates high-tech and ‘70's futurism while also channeling a little of the Star Wars X-Wing. Thanks to plastic body panels, the concept weighs only 850kg and is powered by a 491cc rotary engine delivering 247bhp fitted behind the cabin, in front of the rear axle.
