Toyota condemns the Electric Car

Toyota’s head of R&D in Europe – Masato Katsumata – said in a speech that the electric vehicle won’t be a mass-market phenomenon, and that the future – at least in the coming decades – will be petrol engine hybrids. “We don’t see any short-term breakthrough in battery technology” he said.

Of course, we’ve already seen much of what the F-Type Coupe will offer in the C-X16 Concept – the basis for the F-Type – when that was revealed a year ago, but we hadn’t expected to see it as the F-Type Coupe until at least Geneva 2013. Buick duplicates toughest roads in the world for virtual testing
Wed, 13 Oct 2010Buick is cloning real-world roads so they can be used to virtual test cars. Engineers use cameras and a laser to scan the road surface and to create a three-dimensional virtual copy. Buick has used this system to replicate the road leading to the Cerro del Cubilete shrine in Mexico.
