This is a working, original bumper jack with the factory base and J hook from a late1950's or 1960's GM vehicle.  The jack assembly was glass beaded.  The upright stalk has the factory cadmium like finish and the base and jacking mechanism was given one coat of black paint.  The jacking travel mechanism  has a "A-a" stamped into the metal as well as "UP" and "DOWN" and "U.S. Patent No. 2,962,261"as shown in the 2nd picture. The "J" hook has an "A" stamped into the face as shown in picture # 5.  The base has "A-b" stamped into the lower front panlel shown in picture # 6.   The GM factory part number for the base is 3769624.  The overall length of the upright stalk is 34." Perfect for replacing a missing, damaged or aftermarket jack with a factory original.  Payment is expected within 10 days of the close of the auction. In the ’60s it worked – to a degree – but the 21st century iteration of the Europa was not a huge success. The Marauder lays waste a wall We knew the Hamster was off to South Africa to play with a vehicle that made the Hummer look like a Tonka Toy. And we knew – because they ‘hinted’ at it when we spoke to them last week – that the whole Top Gear segment had more than a little to do with the Paramount Group in South Africa, purveyors of innovative armoured vehicles. So, as suspected, we were treated to Richard conquering the Urban Jungle of Johannesburg in the Paramount Marauder, an aptly-named, go anywhere, seemingly indestructible piece of military hardware made street-legal.
