Vintage part from an Evinrude Fleetwin 4447 7.5HP outboard motor.
Brand:Evinrude Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Manufacturer Part Number:4447

This listing is for the lower unit gear case parts from a 1952 Evinrude Fleetwin 4447 7.5HP outboard motor.

I am not sure what the parts are called but suspect they are part of the clutch assembly.  It appears that when the clutch rod was activated at the top of the motor, it would cause the smaller piece to engage the spring on the prop shaft and either engage or disengage the clutch.  The snap ring appears to have a piece missing.  The parts other than the snap ring appear to be aluminum and have evidence of age but no evidence of abuse.

The parts come from an Evinrude motor that says 4447-82027 on the manufacturer's tag.

The motor had been stored in a barn for some time and was hot seized but would not run.  I removed the spark plugs, put some 2 cycle oil in the cylinder and turned the motor over by hand.  I heard metal on metal in the lower unit so I disassembled it and found there was no lubricant in the lower unit and there was some rust and dirt.

After removing the lower unit, I checked the unit for spark and had none.

Rather than spend the time and money to get the motor running, I decided to disassemble it and sell the parts.

I have many of the parts listed.  If you need something else from a 1952 Evinrude 7.5HP motor, send me a note and I will tell you if I have it.

This item is from a 60+ year old motor and is sold as is.  Please make your buying decision based upon the pictures and ask any questions you may have before bidding.  No returns are accepted on this item.

Ford B-Max (2012) goes into the great wide open

Thu, 08 Mar 2012

Ford hopes a less-is-more approach will lure punters to its new B-max MPV, unique in the supermini segment for having a big hole in the central cockpit instead of a structural pillar. The result is a flexible people mover that's a doddle to load with kids or cargo, Ford claims, thanks to its pillarless opening and sliding rear door. The novel doors landed the £12,500 people mover in the same must-see company as Bentley's grotesque SUV concept and Ferrari's beautiful F12.

Cycle or walk, charity urges parents

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

PARENTS could save a collective £2 billion a year if they ditched the school run and accompanied children to lessons on foot or by bicycle, says a transport charity. On average, each set of parents could reduce costs by £642 a year if they did not use their car to ferry their offspring to and from school, said Sustrans. Around 11 million journeys a day are made between home and school, while, on average, primary school children live 1.8 miles from school, which is a 25-minute brisk walk, or 15-minute bike ride.
