New Glove Box Door V8 Emblem B5A/6A-7004407-A Emblem - Retainer Nut (1955) NOT included or a (1956) BARREL CLIP.

BUYER TIPS:
This V-8 EMBLEM IS THREADED like the original 1955  BUT does not come with a NUT which the 1955 needs nor a BARREL CLIP for the 1956

The two mounting holes are 3/16" or 5/32" depending on wear and removal enlargement. FOR 1956* APPLICATIONS the Top Hole uses Barrel clip and bottom hole is For Alignment. See pic 5 for a stud with residue of the clip, two used clips, and a POSSIBLE new clip.

For 1956* some people use a Hole Saw the size of the plugged holes for the F O R D ----- Emblem and then add another snap in plug.  See Picture 4 with a smaller hole 56 that has been drilled out to resolve the problem and use the nut.  For those whose Barrel Clips are missing,  I have not found an exact replacement Barrel Clip. The Barrel Clip is pretty much a one time use clip if the old emblem stud does not release when attempting to remove. You can drill a broken stud with a 1/8" bit and push the Barrel Clip through and out one of the other holes.  Yours may still be in the top hole - it is very thin and you would have to know to look to see if it is there.  If there then you can just push the new V8 in.

I can acquire universal clips that will fit the the 1956 3/16" top hole OD. The clip starts over the threads but it might be easier to file down some of the threads at the end to get it in easier and not damage your new paint.  Inquire.

VW boss Bernhard quits

Fri, 12 Jan 2007

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 12 January 2007 09:57 Volkswagen boss Wolfgang Bernhard has quit the company as part of a shake-up at Europe's biggest car maker. The news comes as little surprise after months of uncertainty and change at the top of VW. Bernhard built a reputation as an abrasive operator in his short stint as CEO of the Wolfsburg company and had numerous confrontations with unions as he pushed through more modern working practices.

Problems with your McLaren MP4-12C? Have a ‘McLaren: The Wins’ coffee table book

Thu, 20 Oct 2011

Ron Dennis apologises to McLaren MP4-12C owners A couple of weeks ago we reported that McLaren was having some teething problems with their new MP4-12C but weren’t, despite reports to the contrary, halting production. The problems seemed to be mainly software related, with issues including warning lights flashing on and battery drainage issues, which seemed to be because the MP4-12C’s electronics didn’t turn off when the car was halted. But it seemed McLaren were working on the issues with the same sort of zeal we’ve come to recognise from their F1 programme, no doubt spurred on by the wrath of Ron Dennis.

Opel takes Adam racing (2012) first official pictures

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

Vauxhall/Opel has built its new Adam city car around the idea of chic street-cred, but it's now given the Mini Cooper rival a healthy dose of motorsport pedigree as well. An international rally series is being readied for the Adam, where competitors will use a race-prepped version of the city car. A well-specced Adam...with a difference The regular Adam is pitched as a blank canvas for buyers to individualise, with 22 different alloy wheel options, 12 dashboard colour choices, and the option of a Rolls-Royce style fairy-lit roof lining.
