Up for auction is a GM original 265 cubic inch 4 barrel V8 engine for a 1956 Chevrolet passenger car. The numbers matching engine was removed from a very low mileage '56 in 1971. This auction is for exactly what is pictured. The engine turns freely and was never seized up. The casting date on the Towanda (FB) block is June of 1956. This motor is NOT correct for a '56 Corvette. All '56 Corvettes were Flint, Michigan produced blocks. This GM factory optional motor will need rebuilt; but when completed it will add significant dollar value to your '56 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible, Nomad, or Hardtop. SAIC's Mobiliant wins 2013 LA Design Challenge

The Chinese carmaker's entry, a single-seat urban public transit vehicle, was declared the victor after intense judging sessions took place throughout the LA auto show's second press day. The panel – which included Tom Matano, executive director, School of Industrial Design at San Francisco's Academy of Art University, and Stewart Reed, chair of Transportation Design at Pasadena's Art Center College of Design – combed through the entries, discussing their merits and how closely they fit the brief, before hearing the teams' presentations in the afternoon.
