Here is a used front bumper end or dagmar or bullet or whatever you would like to call it, from a 1957 Cadillac. This one is from the PASSENGERS side of the car. It isn't dented or banged up, but it has rust on it and it may be better suited for a custom application where you paint it. It has several spots where the chrome is missing or bubbled up and that is why it may be better to just paint it. There is no rubber bullet for the end of it, you are getting it just the way you see in the pictures. There are no holes in it and again, no dents or dings. It probably looks better in the pictures than in person as there are quite a few places where the chrome is missing leaving just a rust look. The inside of it on the backside is rusty as you can see in the last picture and you may want to spray that part with rust inhibitor to keep it from going all the way through in years to come. It is heavy, so the winning bidder pays only $20.00 shipping anywhere in the lower 48 United States. Int'l extra. Good luck!!

F1 goes all arty with oil: Lewis Hamilton portrait

Mon, 08 Jun 2009

By Peter Adams Motoring Issues 08 June 2009 14:00 It’s not often that the motoring world slickly merges with art, but Mobil 1 has made it happen. US artist David Macaluso has painted a portrait of Lewis Hamilton using oil not from a tube of paint, but from the sump of Hamilton’s F1 car. The oil was taken from Vodafone McLaren Mercedes’ 2008 F1 car – the vehicle that took Hamilton to the world championship last year.

Hagerty recently announced it has teamed-up with LeMay–America’s Car Museum to help develop a new program focusing on education on vehicle restoration. This hands-on learning program has been dubbed the “Hagerty Education Program at America’s Car Museum,” and will provide scholarships as well as educational grants to students who are eager and committed to the collector-vehicle industry. Hagerty wants to carry on the success of the former Collectors Foundation, originally introduced in 2005, to continue to educate young people between the ages of 14-25 on the inner workings of the automotive preservation and restoration process.

Peugeot 308 CC (2008): first photos

Fri, 11 Jul 2008

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 11 July 2008 09:26 Peugeot – the pioneer of folding hard tops – today unveils the new 308 CC. It's not a radical coupe cabriolet, but it's a gentle evolution of the 307 CC blueprint: a four-seater family hatch turned convertible. The French company invented the first production opening metal roof back in the 1930s, after a few coachbuilders toyed with low-volume concepts, and then brought them to the mainstream with the 206 CC in 2001. The new 308 CC follows the same formula with a metal roof that somersaults into its loadbed in 20 seconds to leave a completely flat (if long) rear deck.Gobbling boot space as it goes?Naturally, the  boot shrinks when the roof is lowered, dipping from 465 litres to 266 when it's stowed.
