Brand new camshaft for Ford 427 engine. Box is marked with part number 019-6405, and says "427 - 300 Hyd", which I assume to be 300 hp, with hydraulic lifters.

Since I'm not familiar with Ford, I did a little looking on Google, and found that the 427 was introduced in 1963, but the only year it was offered with hydraulic lifters was 1968. For car engines, that is.

I had this listed once before, and more than one person wondered if this was for a marine engine. I'm sure I don't know, and don't know any way to find out.

There are absolutely no identifying numbers cast on this camshaft, so that is of no help. The only thing cast on it is the block FoMoCo logo. You can see in the one picture the numbers that are on the label on the end of the box. There is nothing else on the box - it is totally blank, except for the label.

If someone can come up with something concrete for me to measure, or otherwise figure out to absolutely identify this, I'd be most happy to hear it, and will put it in the auction.

Barring some help, there really is nothing else I will be able to tell you about this camshaft.

Saab 9-5 Sportwagon (2011) first official pictures

Wed, 19 Jan 2011

This is the new Saab 9-5 Sportwagon, and is the third new model released under Spyker ownership after the 9-5 saloon and 9-4X SUV. Saab has released this solitary teaser image ahead of the car’s debut at the 2011 Geneva motor show in March, and while we can’t see the front on the new Saab 9-5 Sportwagon, it’s the back that’s the business end. It’s not your typical hearse-like load lugger: note the raked rear screen and wraparound rear glass.  Figures first, and seats up there’s 527 litres of boot space in the new Saab 9-5 Sportwagon.

Traps, Apps and Digital Maps

Almost 10 percent of the country is traveling this weekend, and most will be going more than 50 miles. This makes Memorial Day the perfect time to get caught speeding. You may think more cars on the road equals more cover.

BMW 'Dwelling Lab' project

Tue, 11 May 2010

One of the most interesting pieces of work shown at the recent Milan Design Week was 'The Dwelling Lab', collaboration between BMW, Flos Lighting and Kvadrat fabrics. Artists Patricia Urquiola and Guilio Ridolfo were commissioned to effectively turn a BMW 5 Series GT inside out. The car is 'exploded' - with five giant cone-like structures growing out of the windscreen, door openings etc.
