This is an original Chevrolet accessory tachometer for 1964 Chevrolet V8 engines. This tachometer was offered as an accessory at the dealer for cars not originally equipped with a tach. Anything from an Impala to a Pickup could have this tach installed. These tachs are well known for being installed by Chevy dealers in high performance cars not originally installed with a tachometer. This not only added to the high performance mystic of the car but also helped reduce warranty  claims due to over revved engines.

This tachometer is in very good condition as shown. The dial is clear and bright with excellent coloring. The lens is very nice with no cracks, chips, yellowing, or repairs. The front bezel is very nice with an excellent shine. The commonly missing Bowtie emblem is intact as shown.  The cup is also excellent with great shine and reflection and some pitting as shown. The original swivel mount foot is very clean and tightens down as it should and stays where it is set. The mounting foot is the 1964 only style which is curved.  The wiring is in very nice condition with original terminals intact as shown. The back of the tach is as clean as the front and is ink stamped APR 13 1964 as shown. This tachometer is the real deal and in very good shape.

This tach has been tested and works great. It zeros at zero and seems to be accurate. The needle moves smoothly through the dial with no sticking or hesitation. I filmed a video while testing this tach. To watch the video, simply click on the play icon below and the video will play right here in this auction screen. I'm sorry for the sound distortion in the video. The test mechanism electronically effects the microphone in the camera.

This is your chance to own a real deal  Chevrolet accessory tachometer for your special car or collection at a great price. Don't Miss Out!

Aston Martin V12 Vantage arrives!

Wed, 04 Feb 2009

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage promised so much when it was launched. It looked great, it sounded even better, and Aston Martin promised us it would be cheap (by Aston standards) and show the 911 how it was done. Well… It didn’t quite make it.

Bahrain Grand Prix: Rosberg takes pole for Mercedes

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

So much for the 2013 Mercedes being uncompetitive. Nico Rosberg put in a strong performance in Bahrain in qualifying for tomorrow’s F1 race, beating Sebastian Vettel in to second place and Fernando Alonso in to third. But whether this was a qualifying ‘special’ from Mercedes we won’t really know until tomorrow.

D-day for General Motors: GM files for bankruptcy

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 02 June 2009 06:57 General Motors today faces the humiliation of collapsing into bankruptcy. As we’re all too painfully aware, GM has been unable to perform miracles, triggering one of the greatest industrial collapses seen in American corporate history.
