Corvette Z06: The history

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

Chevrolet recently introduced the 2015 Corvette Z06, claiming it as the most track-capable Corvette in the brand's history. The Z06 started out back in 1963, but since its introduction, it has been available in four of the Corvette's seven production generations. Now GM's FastLane blog has a nice deep-dive into the roots of what made it what it is today.

Grab a ‘VAT Free’ Skoda Octavia

Sat, 29 Nov 2008

In yet another ‘Sign of the times’ Skoda has announced that they are now offering ‘VAT Free Octavias’ until the end of the year. No, this is not a tie-up between Alistair Darling and VW, it’s just Skoda’s way of offering a headline price decrease of a bit over 13% (less expensive to Skoda than last week for the same headline, to be fair, and there is a new model due in January!). Grab a VAT free Skoda Octavia I’m pretty sure that there will be a raft of these ‘VAT Free’ offers floating around on everything from cars to washing machines, capitalising on the fact the VAT is in the headlines.

Porsche 918 Spyder takes on the Nurburgring

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

Porsche has taken their concept hybrid supercar – the 918 Spyder – to the Nurburgring to set a time – 7 minutes 14 seconds. But a hybrid halo doesn’t have to mean poor performance, a point Porsche has proved by taking the 918 Spyder to the Nurburgring to set a lap time. The Porsche 918 Spyder can deliver a total of 759bhp from its race-derived V8 and two electric motors which, although less than the likely power available to the F70 of P1, is still a significant amount of get up and go.
