Here is an ORIGINAL factory BLACK dash pad that I am told was for a 1965 Pontiac GTO, LeMans or Tempest!!! Please be your own judge. Might possibly also fit a 1964, but again, be your own judge! Pad is very nice with no cracks! Biggest issue is it was stored top down on a piece of sheet metal and has some rust staining as seen in the pictures. I tried some Soft Scrub on it and it removed some of it. Might clean out still, or a simple redye should do the trick. Also, some light scuff marks as seen. Again, I think a redye would hide these very well. Might not be an all out show quality dash, but should work for most but the finest! There are still 2 studs on the back side. The end look to have just backed out the stud, not broken off. I have the grab handle and dash plate with GTO on it that I will be listing in separate auctions as well very soon. PLEASE NOTE: I WILL DO MY BEST TO LOCATE A FREE BOX, BUT HIGH BIDDER MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF A BOX!!! ALSO, DUE TO THE SIZE, THERE WILL PROBABLY BE AN OVERSIZE SHIPPING CHARGE THROUGH USPS. Sold as-is. No returns. Check my other auctions out!

Peter Stevens and Julian Thomson lead a discussion on the past, present and future of car design

Fri, 24 May 2013

As part of its sponsorship of London's Clerkenwell Design Week, Jaguar and the Royal College of Art brought together three generations of the design school to discuss the past, present and possible future of car design. Held in a suitably grimy warehouse in east London – with the sculpture by RCA students Ewan Gallimore and Claire Mille's we showed you earlier this week sat outside – Professor Dale Harrow, dean of the School of Design and head of its Vehicle Design program introduced Professor Peter Stevens, Julian Thomson, Jaguar's advanced design director and Alexandra Palmowski project designer advanced colour and material at Jaguar took the audience through their careers. Charismatic as ever, Peter Stevens kicked off proceedings that moved chronologically through the decades by explaining how he first became interested in "the art if car design, allied to the science of how they work" through his artistic parents and uncle – journalist and motoring adventurer – Denis Jenkinson during the 1950s and 60s.
