This is a Chevy 283 bare block core used in Chevy II and Nova applications. This block core has been vatted, magnafluxed checked for cracks, thermal cleaned and steelabrated.
- Cylinders are STD bore, but have taper so they must be bored and honed oversized before use.
- Block casting #3862194.
- Block date code K 5 5 = Nov 5, 1965.
- Block has the recessed oil filter mount cast in it.
- Numbers on deck pad are F1118PP.
- F = Assembled at Flint plant.
- 11 = Assembled in November.
- 18 = Assembled 18th day.
- PP = 1966 Chevy II 283/195HP with powerglide and a/c.
