This is a very nice brand new well-detailed black 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 die-cast collectible. It was made in 1:64 scale in the premium adult Car and Driver series by the AutoWorld Company and is nicely detailed including proper trim, authentic factory-correct Super-Stock wheels/redline tires, a functional hood that opens to reveal the 400 Rocket V8 and a very well-done interior. The one we saw first was Sam Mann's 1930 Duesenberg J Graber Cabriolet. It was entered in the Tour, a 60-mile pre-Pebble cruise around Monterey, down to Big Sur and back, which gives cars entered in the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance a chance to show that they are more than just pretty things. Mann's Duesey had all the looks of a winner, with its long front hood, flowing fenders and two seats way in the back.

Volkswagen has revealed the first details of its seventh-generation Golf--including a classy new interior--at a heavily cloaked press event ahead of the car's official unveiling in September in Berlin. The Golf, VW's perennial best seller, has raked in worldwide sales of more 29 million cars over 38 years of production. The new model, which is described as being up to 23 percent more economical than its predecessor, is planned to go on sale across Europe in November, replacing today's model, introduced in 2008.

Lincoln vehicles will be dramatically different from Ford brand products, Ford Motor Co. executives said last week. "The strategy isn't just new products, but full differentiation from the Ford brand in not only design but in technology," Derrick Kuzak, Ford's group vice president of global product development, told a group of auto analysts at the Detroit auto show.
