Lehi, Utah, United States
Please read full description in listing. This is an original Ford 1967 Mustang radio that has been completely upgraded with modern electronics, and includes bluetooth capability. The external case is the original unit so it appears (at first glance) to be only the original AM radio. It does have 2 LED status indicators; one for stereo, the other for AM/FM tuner status, and Bluetooth status--look in the corners of the dial plate in the pictures. There are also cables for line-audio output for front left/right channel (3.5mm stereo jack), and sub-woofer output (line level RCA phono style), and a USB cable for music file access with a thumbdrive. A set of knobs and rear mount bracket (under-dash style installation) are included. It is a vintage and used item, so please examine the pictures and ask all questions before bidding.
Manufacturer Part Number:7TPZ Part Brand:Ford Philco Warranty:No

This item is as follows; it is an original Ford/FoMoCo Mustang AM radio case, but with completely new electronics for the tuner, audio channels, connectivity, and bluetooth capability.  It has a factory fader control installed for front/back adjustment, just like you would have had in 1967.

The original AM radio: Ford FoMoCo OEM Philco AM radio case-- for Mustang manufactured for 1967 67 year model cars. This item is correct for only the 67 model year Mustangs, due to its Ford part-number/engineering-number -- 7TPZ, and the characteristic chrome pushbuttons for 67. Tuning and mechanical movement items have been checked, lubricated, and work very well. This is an original Ford 1967 Mustang radio that has been completely upgraded with modern electronics, and includes bluetooth capability.  The external case is the original unit so it appears (at first glance) to be only the original AM radio installed in your dash.  This is an original Ford 1967 Mustang radio that has been completely upgraded with modern electronics, and includes bluetooth capability.  The external case is the original unit so it appears (at first glance) to be only the original AM radio.  It does have 2 LED added on the dial plate for status indicators; one for stereo; the other for AM/FM tuner status, and Bluetooth status--look in the corners of the dial plate in the pictures. To keep it as close to stock appearance and use the original knob arrangement, the balance and control is done via virtual controls--the volume control is moved in a certain pattern and then it switches to the balance function.  Unique to this radio is the inclusion of a factory fader: the fader was an option to use a mono-radio with a rear speaker.  The fader for this radio is a stock unit that will work with the modern upgrade--you can use it for a 4 speaker install, or install two speakers (for example front left and rear right and it will operate as a balance control!!!).  It is still comprised of a vintage and used item (OEM case, bezel, push-buttons, mechanical tuner assembly), so please examine the pictures and ask all questions before bidding.  The incandescent dial lamp has been replaced already with an LED one for extended lifetime. There are scuff marks from use, so look at the pictures and ask questions! What is pictures is the item you will receive. Sorry for the dust and reflections in the pictures, but where I live as soon as you dust it, you get it right back into the pictures....

NOTE: Active bidders can request a user's manual for the radio and bluetooth operation details.

NOTE: This is the second one of these radios i have offered in a long time on ebay.

Items to note for this auction item: there is a set of knobs and a rear mounting bracket (under dash style install, NOT console) included (OEM).

Also, there is a microphone included for 'hands free' BT operation, and a push-button included which you can install for advancing a play-list on the BT/USB listening mode.

To switch between the AM, FM, and audio-input-cable modes: you turn on the receiver--it will be in the last mode you left it--the turn it off waiting about a second--then back on: it will cycle to the next mode every time you do this.  Auxiliary or line-input mode is selected by moving the station dial all the way to the left.  Bluetooth and file USB file detection are automatic.

Hookup and installation: you, the buyer, need to be able to install a standard car stereo, or have someone who has done it before, do it!  The wiring harness comes as pictured--there is a multi-conductor cable with a detachable connector that has all of the radio power, dash light, and audio outputs.  You will get a user's manual for the bluetooth and normal radio operation.  You can use 1, 2, 3, or 4 speakers as it will detect your installation automatically.  You do need to supply a higher current power line as the radio does use more power than the original one, however there is a 10 amp fuse in the radio's wire harness so you can power it from a higher fused source.  There is a USB female cable, but it is short, so please keep that in mind--you can also install your own extension cable if needed.  Also included are a push-button for advancing the playlist USB, and a microphone for hands-free BT operation.

Why you would want this:

· The upgraded radio functions are almost completely hidden. No under dash FM converter brick (such as the Realistic or Kraco units) to install, wire or get in the way, or destroy a stock appearance.  There are three LED's for status indicators mounted into the black dial plate--if you don't want ANYTHING to appear different, i can remove the plate and install the normal one.

· If you want a 'build sheet correct' or show correct car, but still want to listen to FM, FM-stereo, connect your audio via bluetooth, have a subwoofer (line output provided via RCA jack, it is NOT amplified--you need to provide your own sub-woofer amp), you can maintain the appearance and build sheet originality and no one will know (unless you show them).

· This modification works for different FM bands and can be set up for North American operation (87.5-108MHz, 200khz channel separation), World operation (87.5-108MHz 100khz separation) or for Japanese operation (76-90MHz)

If you’ve thought about having your vintage radio modified with modern electronics, and 4 channel audio capability, (Bluetooth and USB capability is an optional extra) then here’s more about this modification:

· it is a very small PC board that can be installed in just about any vintage radio.

· It will also work with a T & C ( Town and Country ) or Wonderbar (GM/Delco) signal seeking radios--your AM signal seeking will work along with FM signal seeking.

NOTE: This item may be listed with a reserve. The reserve is representative of the base core's value, time, and materials I use to refurbish radios.

I will do my best to answer any questions. Ebay does not allow a statement within the original listing for reserve prices, but you can always ask.

Reality Check: Since most of the items I sell are at around 40 years old, they are subject to wear and tear and are not new. Do not buy a any vintage car part that has been used and expect it to have all the characteristics of a new item—even NOS items have shelf wear or age that is not immediately apparent. Look at the pictures and ask questions!

Listed as USED, but thoroughly serviced as described. Because I go over the radios thoroughly, repair, replace, fix, etc. as needed for each unit. Most models of radios are disassembled, lubricated, and fully tested! My expectation is you receive a radio that works as well as first built. Because it is a used item, and generally 40 plus years old, cosmetic conditions vary, and that is what pictures and questions are for. I use original Ford or GM/Delco parts as much as possible, or only quality service parts. If you have ANY questions about the radio or work done on it, please ask.

Terms of Auction:

Please read my shipping instructions. I sell overseas often, but please be aware that shipping overseas takes extra time and money. Customs issues, customs fees, and VAT, etc. are the sole responsibility of the buyer. You may be held accountable for the entire value of the auction item when it comes to VAT or customs duties. I cannot declare any items as gifts or free. Delays in getting packages are usually due to customs issues, or the exchange of one postal service to another, so please be patient. I do charge a handling fee for shipping overseas (at least $5) since it takes a lot of extra time and resources to fill out documentation etc. International shipments require loss coverage, and may not be offered to all locations. If the amount or worth of the auction exceeds $249, you must be able to sign for the shipment-no exceptions due to ebay/Paypal policy.

Terms of Payment:

PayPal is preferred. Please complete payment within 3 days. Other payment options can be arranged if needed (must be arranged before you bid and before auction closes, as I reserve the right to refuse any alternate form of payment). If you pay by Paypal, your item will be covered by damage/loss coverage (insured) and have tracking--your address must be a real, physical address which is verified by PayPal. International payments need to be paid via Paypal, unless other arrangements are made.

Shipping: I try to ship the best, safest method for the money possible. If it will fit comfortably in a USPS flat rate box, then that is usually my first choice. If you prefer another method, i can usually accommodate you, especially if you have a business address and/or an alternate shippers account number. If you are an international bidder, I highly recommend a large flat rate box, as I believe extra packing helps prevent against damage. I package everything I sell appropriately, and everything is covered for damage or loss. If you receive a damaged item, it needs to be reported BEFORE the usual USPS or UPS time limit—within 5 days or less, with all original packing and packaging for postal/carrier inspection, and any proof of damage documented, and you, the buyer, must present proof of damage to the carrier, as I cannot represent you as the recipient. PLEASE NOTE: the USPS does not offer full damage/loss coverage capability to some countries. For example, you can only insure up to a fixed amount for some South American countries. If your country of destination does not allow insurance/damage/loss coverage to the full amount of the auction, plus shipping, you will be notified. You must either accept the maximum amount allowed by the USPS/carrier, or we can cancel the auction and your funds will be returned.

Tiff Needell compares the 911 and F-Type

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

It was a mere matter of time before somebody pitted the new Jaguar F-Type against a flat-six-powered automobile from Stuttgart. And while our natural inclination would've been to choose the mid-engined, two-seat Boxster S to mash heads with the 380-horse V6 S model, the lads at Evo had Tiff Needell compare the new Jag to a 911 Carrera Cabriolet. The heavier Neunelfer is a closer power/weight match to the F-Type.

Wed, 04 Jul 2012

The Fiat 500X is an SUV based on the same platform as the 500L, and we’ve got a sneak peek of it at a press event in Italy. Fiat are determined to extend the 500 franchise with an extended range of models, such as the Fiat 500L we saw officially launched earlier today. Next up will be the Fiat 500X, a crossover come SUV based on the same Punto platform as the new 500L and aimed at the same market place as the MINI Countryman.
