I have for auction a 1971 LS6 454 425HP 4 bolt main engine block with extras. The extras will include a set of 7/16" dimple rods, forged steel 454 7416 crank, a set of .030 over used but in excellent shape LS6 TRW forged pistons, 3994026 rectangular port heads. I also have a new factory spec LS6 cam and lifter set. The engine is now .030 fresh bore. Crank is standard on the mains and standard on the rods. It is ready to run. The heads are bare castings so they will need valves and springs. Here are the casting numbers and dates from the parts: Block. 3963512. Date E-17-71 Heads 3994026. Date F-16-71 Crank 7416 forged steel I did have the block lightly decked to ensure the decks were trued up and clean, but had them leave as much of the stampings on the pad as possible. I also had the cylinders bored to .030. I am including the TRW .030 forged LS6 pistons in case someone wants them. Block has been cleaned, magnafluxed, lightly decked, and cylinders bored. Heads have been cleaned and magnafluxed. Crank has been cleaned, magnafluxed, and polished. As you can see in the photos the stamp on the block is CRR. Not sure why this 71 block is stamped with a 1970 code but have been told and read that GM carried this code over from 1970 to later years in Marine applications and have also been told that GM or Dealers would stamp the correct code on a factory/warranty replacement block, but alot of the time that didnt happen because the workers didnt do it. I believe this was a warranty replacement for a 1970 LS6 Chevelle that is why the CRR code and I think it was possibly installed in 1971 that is why the 1971 dated block and heads....although I cant verify that. BMW Concept 6 Series Coupe
Sun, 19 Sep 2010The BMW Concept 6 Series Coupe appears to be a thinly-veiled version of the upcoming production version, due next year. Like the current model, it retains a 2+2 coupe layout and while its exterior styling may not be as shocking as its predecessor's on its unveiling in 2003, it marks an evolution of the current BMW language. Its face has a subtly evolved kidney grille and more drawn-back headlamps.
Volvo gives T6 engine the Polestar treatment
Fri, 02 Dec 2011Just weeks after announcing its Polestar performance kits for the T5-engined cars, Volvo is now offering packages for the XC60, S60 and XC70 models fitted with its turbocharged six-cylinder engine. The T6 Polestar software package adds 25 hp and 30 lb-ft of torque, bringing totals to 325 hp and 355 lb-ft, respectively. Volvo says the added power won't result in greater fuel consumption, as the tuning of the engine only increases power when needed--though we'd imagine most drivers will feel the need often enough to significantly affect mileage.
MyFord Touch revealed at Consumer Electronics Show
Thu, 07 Jan 2010Ford is using the concept behind its Sync technology to dramatically redo the appearance of its instrument panels and the manner in which drivers interact with their cars. Ford is revealing MyFord Touch at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and the technology launches on the 2011 Ford Edge followed by global availability on the 2012 Focus. MyLincoln Touch will be standard on new Lincolns, starting with 2011 MKX.
