For sale used Pontiac 455 engine removed from 1972 Catalina - complete air cleaner to pan but missing distributor.
Block date code = I 01 1 Engine code YC = 250 hp Head code = 7M5 Engine history that I know of - in or around 1987 I bought and drove the 72 to our garage and pulled this engine out, put it on an engine stand, sprayed marine fogging oil in the cylinders periodically and there it has sat waiting. As I remember the car had around 90k on it, motor ran ok, smoked a little on start up. Still turns over easily by hand. Does not appear to ever been apart - quick look under valve cover shows lots of gunk - see pictures. The original turbo 400 has been sold. Sorry, local pick up only. Engine will also be advertised locally. |
