Vauxhall has announced that it will take on 300 new staff at its Ellesmere Port plant, ready for production of the new Astra in 2015. Following the recent acquisition of a majority stake in the Chrysler Group by Cerburus comes the announcement that there will be a reshuffling at Chrysler's North American design offices.  Joseph Dehner and Brandon Faurote will be taking over Vice President positions at the product design offices in Auburn Hills, replacing Thomas Tremont and David McKinnon. Joseph Dehner will be replacing David McKinnon as Vice President for Small, Premium and Family Vehicle Design on June 1, 2007, moving up from his position as Director of Truck Exterior and Interior Design.

Steering issue to prompt Lexus recall

Toyota is poised to recall nearly 4,000 Lexus luxury sedans in the United States, and 11,500 worldwide, to fix an issue with the car's steering. The recall will cover the Lexus LS, the flagship sedan of the Lexus lineup. The recall will also cover LS sedans sold in Japan, Europe and China.
