If you're restoring, or just maintaining, an early 911 or 912 then you already know that the once plentiful original interior parts for these cars are becoming harder and harder to find. That's especially true for the parts that get touched the most, like steering wheels, because they tended to take so much abuse over the years. It won't be long before all we have left are the inferior reproductions so get the real stuff while you can!

This original, leather steering wheel is correct for all 911's from 1974 through 1983. Like many Porsche parts, it may fit other years as well. It's a good wheel, and includes the horn pad, but it appears that a previous owner wrapped the wheel in a cover resulting in permanent impressions in the leather. It's still a solid wheel, priced correctly, and would be a great starting point for recovering in new leather. I've included multiple high-resolution photos showing the exact condition of this steering wheel.

German supercar maker Gumpert has filed for insolvency after a foray in to China failed to realise the expected sales. We’re beginning to wonder if the only garden shed supercar makers actually able to make a go of things are British? Gumpert – German maker of extreme supercars – has instigated insolvency proceedings after its plan to make the newly wealthy Chinese fall in love with its bonkers cars floundered.
