Kia Sportage and Soul recall – affects 7000 UK cars

5,787 UK Kia Sportage models (pictured) are being recalled. Recalls are a fact of life for car makers, but at least the industry now tries to respond to problems as they arise, and before they cause damage to people of vehicles. This latest recall comes from Kia in the UK, which is recalling a total of 5,785 Sportage models and 1.432 Soul models to address a problem that ha been identified with the seat belt pre-tensioner mechanism.

Record breaking Bluebird reunited with nose

WORLD LAND SPEED RECORD holder Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird CN7 car has been reunited with its original nose. The car’s original nose was damaged and then kept in Coventry since 1960, but it has now been brought back to the car that lives at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Hampshire. Damaged during a World Land Speed Record attempt on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA, the nose of the car was sent back to Coventry for repairs and an updated design to help make the car more stable at very high speeds.

Nissan is looking to bring a splash of colour and outlandish design to Brazil's streets with their latest creation: the Extrem SUV concept. It's an eye-grabbing response to the 'more affordable locally produced vehicles, which tend to be conservative in design, colour and specification', according to company Senior Vice President Shiro Nakamura.
