This mileage monitor is new in its original box with instructions and all of the hardware needed to install it.  The literature is dated 1980.  Following is an excerpt from the manual regarding use of the monitor:

"IMPORTANT: The Mileage Monitor is a precision engineered vacuum gauge.  The instrument itself has no effect on performance or mileage. However, if you use the Mileage Monitor as a driving guide (see back page), you can achieve a substantial improvement.  Additionally, you can observe problems in ignition timing, valve operation, carburetor adjustment, and more.  Spotting a problem in advance can save you hundreds of dollars [listing note: year 1980 dollars; today possibly thousands] in repairs."

Top car awards should be for cars that are available for buyers to walk in and grab from their local dealer, and they must bring something that’s not just new, but better too. We’re not sure where that leaves the winner of the 2012 Scottish Car of the Year – the Dacia Duster – as it’s hardly a ground-breaking car and it’s not on sale yet.

Toyota previews a Lexus that drives itself

Sat, 05 Jan 2013

Even avid petrolheads have to admit that there are times when they’d rather let the car do the work, especially in congested urban environments. Wouldn’t it be good to stick the car in to auto drive when you’re stop-starting at 5mph and either have a kip or do some work?
