In fact they wiped the floor with just about everyone else in the ’60s, winning the Monte Carlo Rally three times in the decade. And now BMW are planning a proper foray back in to WRC with a MINI Countryman WRC prepared in conjunction with Prodrive and featuring a 1.6 litre turbo from BMW Motorsport and AWD.

And our first festive treat is this new Jaguar sledge, an intriguing look at a Big Cat on its way to the next chimney top.The bright red sky scooter was designed by 25-year-old Jaguar exterior designer Thomas Smith. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in June 2009 and joined Jaguar this summer, after a placement in Coventry's advanced design studio where he penned a luxury flagship coupé blue-sky project.His version of Santa's sleigh reveals a push-me-pull-you, very modern take on what a Jag could be.
Europe trailing on ESP safety
Fri, 21 Feb 2014NOT ENOUGH new cars in Europe are being specified with an electronic stability programme (ESP) that is proved to be most important safety system in prevent collisions. Research by Frost and Sullivan has found Europe is lagging behind North America, where there is almost 100% success with fitting news cars with ESP. Despite ESP being included in the European New Car Assessment Programme since 2011, the study shows there has been only a minimal increase in the number of cars sold that have ESP.
