Vauxhall Mokka SUV price from £16,995

Fri, 08 Jun 2012

The sub-comp[act SUV Vauxhall Mokka is now on sale in the UK in three trim levels with a choice of three engines from £16,995. First customer cars in November 2012. The official debut for the Vauxhall Mokka (which retains the German spelling of 'Mocha' for its name) was the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March, although by then we already knew what was on offer. That's because not only had Vauxhall / Opel divvied up photos of the Mokka in January, we'd also had the Buick Encore revealed in the States which is, to all intents and purposes, a Mokka with an Uncle Sam badge.

Police get tough with Ariel Atom supercar

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

ANYONE with a taste for speed might fear the sight of flashing blue lights in their mirrors, but nothing could be more frightening than this! British supercar maker Ariel has created this police-specification version of its new Atom 3.5 in order to support the Avon and Somerset Constabulary’s Safer Rider campaign. The Atom PL1 has the same 350bhp supercharged 2.0-litre Honda engine, sequential gearbox and spectacular performance as the regular car – with a 0-60mph time of 2.5 seconds it can match most superbikes – but with the addition of Avon and Somerset Constabulary livery, aerodynamic pursuit lights and safety equipment.

Toyota & BMW to work together on next-gen lithium-ion batteries BMW and Toyota are to work together to develop next-generation lithium-ion battery technology to try and make battery power more effective. Late last year we learnt that BMW and Toyota are to work more closely to share technology and expertise as the car industry enters a period of consolidation and partnership to try and keep R&D costs under control, and make their products more cost-effective. The result of the BMW Toyota tie-up sees BMW getting access to some of Toyota’s Hybrid nous and Toyota getting access to BMW’s excellent diesel engines.
