This year's Designer's Night took place on April 21, the second evening of the recent Beijing International Auto Show. Hosted by Autodesk and supported by Car Design News, the event took place in Beijing's famous northeastern 798 art factory district and attracted over 200 designers and design leaders from around the world, from well-known international companies as well as the design leaders from the Chinese automotive design industry. Cadillac ELR comes with free home-charging station

The Chevrolet Volt-based Cadillac ELR has never been associated with a low price of entry, but Cadillac is now offering an extra incentive to those looking to buy one. The company will provide a 240-Volt Level 2 home-charging station including installation with a new ELR. Cadillac hopes this incentive just might sway some buyers who have been thinking about buying the luxury gas-electric hybrid, or those who have been cross-shopping the ELR with the Tesla Model S.

Aston Martin mobile phone concept

Aston Martin has combined forces with Canadian luxury mobile phone manufacturer, Mobiado, to create the CPT002 concept. Based around a transparent touch screen, the CPT002 phone combines both existing technologies and software with genuine advances in electronics to create a 'realistic vision of luxury mobile phones', the company says. The CPT002 phone goes beyond what most smart phones can currently offer.
