Ford's forgotten T-Drive programMon, 29 Oct 2012Digital boss Andy Stoy recently passed along this little piece of nearly forgotten Ford history from the early 1990s. We know that our girl Murilee Martin dug this up way back in 2010, but the wonder of the Ford T-Drive system is worth revisiting. According to Drivingenthusiast.com, “T-drive is a system consisting of a transversally located inline engine, a transmission and associated packaging.” The transmission is mounted to the side of the engine, or the back, depending on how you look at things. Lexus, Honda and Kia reveal teasers for 2014 Detroit auto showThu, 19 Dec 2013By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 19 December 2013 17:00 Ahead of the Detroit motor show in January 2014, Lexus, Honda and Kia have all received teaser shots of their new offerings. We’ve rounded the up into one bite-size story to cut to the heart of what we’re really looking at. After previously flashing us a shot of wheel and vent, Lexus has now unveiled a shot on what’s all-but-confirmed to be the new RC-F coupe’s vented bonnet. Is the Jaguar XFR-S on the way?Thu, 02 Feb 2012Is the Jaguar XFR-S on the way (2012 XFR pictured) New reports suggest that the Jaguar XFR-S – a more powerful XFR with the output of the XKR-S – is close to production. Last summer we reported that a Jaguar XFR-S was being planned (actually, we also said a Jaguar XJR-S was in the planning too) in order to take the fight back to the Germans, with the latest iterations of the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG now offering more power than the XFR can muster. The idea of a more powerful XFR wasn’t just wild speculation (or an educated guess as to what Jaguar needed to do to keep in touch with German rivals) but was also based on Adrian Hallmark’s comments that it would be nice to take the power upgrades on the XKR-S and extend them to the XF. 2040Parts.com © 2012-2024.
