It also served up some quality crumpet (more of which later)… So what’s new on Mini’s London motor show stand?The ultimate Mini – the John Cooper Works version – went on sale on press day of the London motor show, offering 208bhp, 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds, a 148 mph top speed and a cool body kit. We had the first reveal of the MINI Coupe Concept nearly two years ago and, despite the production MINI Coupe looking almost exactly the same as the concept, MINI managed to do the production reveal in two stages – one with swirly disguise round the rump followed by a full reveal a week or three later. Still, all the pre-production marketing flim-flam out of the way, MINI are getting down to actually making the car that promises to be the most fun (modern) MINI so far, and the very first MINI Coupe has now rolled off the production line at Cowley – cue PR opportunity.
Hyundai Curb concept car (2011) at Detroit auto show
Mon, 10 Jan 2011It wasn't just about the Veloster hogging the limelight on Hyundai's stand at the 2011 Detroit auto show. The Curb concept car is a glimpse of a future rival to the Nissan Juke, and the Koreans even admitted it was a hint 'for the next generation of Hyundai buyers.' The new Curb is defiantly a concept car, but it also showcases Hyundai's Blue Link connectivity technology. Hyundai's Curb is the twelfth concept car to be designed at the company's Californian Design Center.
