Sun, 30 Jan 2011Top Gear Ashes v Australia After a better than average start to the latest series of Top Gear (Series 16 AB), with a trio of tests and Scouse comic John Bishop proving there’s nothing quicker than a scouser in someone else’s car, tonight’s Top Gear looks promising too. It’s Top Gear Ashes time, with the boys attempting to heap more humiliation on the Land Down Under. They take up a challenge from the Australian Top Gear presenters in a car-based version of the Ashes.
Citroen DS 5LS R revealed as high-performance DS5 for China. Debuts at Beijing.
Fri, 04 Apr 2014The Citroen DS 5LS R (pictured) heading for a Beijing debut The Citroen DS 5LS was revealed at the end of last year as Citroen’s biggest DS model to date, but as it’s aimed at China there’s little chance we’ll see it in the UK or Europe, where there’s no real market for a stretched DS5. And the same goes for the ‘Racing’ version revealed this morning – the Citroen DS 5LS R – which is heading for a debut at the Beijing Motor Show later this month. Under the bonnet of the DS 5LS R sits the 1.6 litre petrol turbo found in the Peugeot RCZ, where it gets 270bhp, but Citreon have managed to boost that to 300bhp – which should make putting the power down quite interesting.

But in the real world Honda can’t afford to ignore Toyota’s huge hybrid successes, so we got treated to the Honda Insight – a fairly woeful attempt at a hybrid. Next up from Honda was the CR-Z – which we were to believe would be spiritual successor to the CR-X – which did at least try to inject some fun in to the feeble hybrid setup with a manual ‘box.
