HONDA CIVIC 1.7 L

OXYGEN SENSOR KIT

(Upstream and Downstream Heated Oxygen Sensors, Direct Fit)

Fits the following vehicles:

HONDA CIVIC 1.7

·         models: 2001, 2002, 2003

·         Fits all models with 4 cylinder, 1.7 liter engine (displacement: 1,668 cc)

·         Fits all models: DX, LX

·         Engine type: D17A1

This product is a direct replacement for Oxygen Sensors originally installed in your car.

This product is a set of high quality Oxygen Sensors, factory paired for optimum engine and maximum emission performance.

The Oxygen Sensors in the set are:

·         manufactured to match the highest OEM standards

·         factory heat and pressure tested to assure performance under the most demanding operating conditions

·         have threads coated with high temperature anti-seize protective grease

It is highly recommended to replace Oxygen Sensors every 100,000 miles as well as during installation of a new catalytic converter.

A worn-out oxygen sensor:

·         Wastes precious fuel

·         Will cause engine performance problems, such as surging and hesitating

·         Is the number one cause of excessive exhaust emissions

·         Considerably accelerates catalytic converter damage

Replacing a worn-out oxygen sensor:

·         Saves money in fuel costs

·         Improves engine performance

·         Reduces air pollution

·         Prevents premature failure of the catalytic converter

Oxygen sensor may fail due to a normal aging process. The sensors may also fail prematurely if they become contaminated with oil combustion products or traces of decomposing engine gaskets or engine sealants or the leaking engine coolant.

A defective sensor prevents the car's computer from adjusting air-fuel mixture properly, resulting in the air-fuel mixture becoming too rich. The final effect is incomplete fuel combustion, high fuel consumption and increased emissions. The unburned fuel may pass to the catalytic converter and ignite inside the converter. This will cause the converter to overheat. When the converter overheats the catalyst substrate inside the converter may melt or disintegrate forming a partial or complete blockage. The result will be a drastic drop in engine performance or engine stalling due to a buildup of backpressure in the exhaust system.

A malfunctioning oxygen sensor may cause severe damage to the catalytic converter. Too rich fuel mixture makes the catalytic converter to run much hotter than normal.

This Oxygen Sensor set is a direct replacement for the following sets:

·         NGK 24289 and NGK 24284

·         BOSCH 13487 and BOSCH 15710

·         DENSO 234-4092 and 234-4074

SHO-down in Motown

Wed, 14 Jul 2010

“There are no egos in this club,” said Tom Ochal, owner of a pristine 1993 Taurus SHO. “The other guys might have a problem with aftermarket wheels or other-make parts, but not us.” That same sentiment was echoed throughout the parking lot at the 19th-annual Taurus SHO club convention at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Mich., right before the crew took off to the Waterford Hills racetrack in nearby Clarkston. At least 100 cars SHO-ed up for the 2010 meet.

Ford eases V6 Mustang around Bristol track for 1,457 laps

Thu, 24 Jun 2010

As you may have expected, the team at Ford was able to run a V6-powered 2011 Mustang for at least 1,000 laps on the half-mile Bristol Motor Speedway track on Wednesday before running out of gasoline. In fact, the Mustang lapped Bristol 1,457 times before its 16-gallon fuel tank ran dry. The run was part of a marketing push touting the 31-mpg highway rating for the 2011 Mustang V6 and its six-speed automatic transmission.
