Nissan to pull Infiniti production out of Japan to counter strong yen

The high value of the yen will prompt Nissan Motor Co. to shift production of Infiniti vehicles out of Japan to other locations, Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said. "You won't have to wait a long time before we make a decision about the new base for sourcing of Infiniti," Ghosn told a group of reporters April 4 during the New York auto show.

Lotus today confirmed it will build its city car concept - with help from parent firm Proton - but the Elan sports car has been put on ice. The new Lotus city car will be called the Ethos, continuing a long tradition of E-names for products from Hethel. Mini has announced the basic specifications for the upcoming Mini Coupe, due to launch later in summer 2011. Mini Coupe: the spec levels The car will be available in four specification levels, starting with Mini Cooper Coupe's naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre engine. From there it's on to the 1.6 turbocharged petrol Mini Cooper S Coupe, 2.0 turbodiesel Cooper SD Coupe, and the range-topping 208bhp Mini John Cooper Works Coupe.
