He has finally ruled out a rumoured M1 version of the 1-series and said the tii spec would be the most performance-oriented model, claiming the the twin-turbo 135i was quite fast enough (it does 0-62mph in 5.3sec, after all).The tii concept shown at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show points accurately to the approach BMW is developing: performance kits for the 1-series coupe and hatchback, an aero package, carbonfibre details, fatter wheels and tyres, sports seats and instruments. Car collector, lawyer O'Quinn dies in car crash

Noted Texas attorney John O'Quinn, a car collector who at one time owned more than 600 vehicles, died after the SUV he was driving in Houston ran off the road and crashed into a tree. O'Quinn was 68. Police are continuing to investigate the crash, which happened Thursday morning on wet roads.

2013 Ford Escape hit with two additional recalls

Ford Motor Co. today said it is issuing two additional recalls of its 2013 Escape crossover after receiving reports of fires in 13 more vehicles. They bring the total number of recalls of the 2013 Escape to seven, five of which involve fire risks on models equipped with a 1.6-liter engine.
