Kia Sorento SUV is recalled for problem with airbag sensor

Kia is recalling 10,631 Sorento SUVs because of a problem with the airbag sensor. Sorento models made between June 15, 2006, and Nov. 27, 2007, might have a malfunctioning sensor for the front passenger seat, incorrectly classifying passengers in that seat as children and therefore deactivating their airbags.

HOT on the heels of its newly launched Aygo city car, Toyota has released the first details of its refreshed Yaris supermini. Scheduled to hit the showrooms this summer, the restyled car boasts an improved interior and better vehicle dynamics that its maker believes will position the car as one of the strongest contenders in the fiercely competitive supermini market. Nissan has revealed that it plans to install an electronic steer-by-wire system in to its Infiniti models in 2013. As car makers seek to squeeze every last fraction of a mile out of their cars to hit economy and emissions targets, computer control of many of a car’s functions are controlled by computer, which means the official tests for economy and emissions can be guaranteed to produce predictable results. Now Nissan are to take electronic steering to its logical conclusion by eliminating any direct connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels (except in an emergency) with the first fly-by-wire steering system in a production car.
