By Damion Smy First Official Pictures 11 December 2013 12:00 June 21 2014 is the day the new BMW M4 goes on sale, yet BMW has released full details for the production version of its new hero ahead of its Detroit show debut in January. In case you missed it, the M4 is the new name for the two-door M3, and the flagship M version is more powerful, faster and tougher than ever. The outgoing M3 Coupe has proved the benchmark for the Mercedes C63 AMG and the Audi RS5 so the M4 will has its work cut out for it, having to live up to not only its rivals, but its predecessor.

The Mini is 50 years old today

  Today - 08/05/2009 - is the 50th anniversary of the first Mini rolling off the production line. To celebrate, and for a bit of free publicity (see, we’re playing the game) BMW has shipped the first Mini to roll of the production line back to Cowley to celebrate (picture at the bottom). 621 AOK, a Mini Minor, in Old English White, looks as fresh as the day it rolled off the production line half a century ago (although I wouldn’t mind betting it doesn’t have it’s original sills – they always rusted through – or copes with its original distributor and leads – one splash of rain and the car ground to a halt!).
