PM opens Williams F1’s new Advanced Engineering Centre

Prime minister David Cameron has today opened Williams Racing’s new £8 million Advanced Engineering Centre in Grove, Oxford. The new facility will help transfer Williams’ four decades of title-winning F1 expertise into the world of road cars – and the PM has challenged the engineers working there to continue helping Britain compete on the world stage by developing new business opportunities. McLaren F1 LM & F1 GTR to join P1 at 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed

The McLaren F1 LM Prototype (pictured) will be at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed is turning in to a proper treat for McLaren fans. As well as the McLaren P1 making its driving debut at Goodwood this year – and taking on the hillclimb, McLaren is taking a trio of legendary F1 cars to the festival too. On show will be the 1995 Le Mans winning F1 GTR, a car which allowed McLaren to become the first racing team ever to win the Formula 1, Indy 500, Can Am and Le Mans Championships.

Beetle anniversary party is more crazy than ever

OVER 4,000 enthusiasts are making their way to the Baltic resort of Travemünde to celebrate Beetles of all generations in what has been called 'The Sunshine Tour'. As well as plenty of original cars there is also plenty of fancy dress for the owners and the cars themselves, while there competition for the overall prize of Most Beautiful Beach Beetle. Volkswagen has been an official partner since 2005 and will be present again over the weekend of 15-17 August with a number of special vehicles.
