Petrolhead spiders cause Mazda recall

Mazda has had to recall 42,000 vehicles in the US after it emerged that a species of spider had been weaving webs in fuel vent hoses, increasing the risk of fuel leaks and fires. The yellow sac spider’s curious domestic activities cause a build-up of pressure in the evaporative fuel vent that – in theory at least – could result in a cracked fuel tank and therefore an increased risk of fire. This isn’t the first time that the Mazda 6 has received the unwanted advances of a gas-guzzling arachnid, either – three years ago Mazda had to recall over 50,000 cars for precisely the same reason.

The Porsche Cajun Coupe Crossover It’s only a week or two since we finally discovered for certain that Porsche will be building an SUV / Crossover based on the Audi Q5. And we also discovered that instead of being the Porsche Roxster – which was always a bit of joke name – Porsche’s trendy crossover would be the Porsche Cajun. Callaway's Supercharged Corvette Stingray packs 610-hp

Callaway has debuted their supercharged version of the Chevrolet Corvette dubbed SC610, which should provide an intriguing alternative to the the 2015 Corvette Z06. SC of course stands for supercharged, with 610 being the horsepower figure. That's right, Callaway has squeezed out an extra 155-hp and 96 lb-ft of torque out of the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 powering the C7 Corvette, for a total of 610-hp and 55 lb-ft of torque.
