2008-2010 XB Remote Engine Start PT398-52080

The Scion remote engine start system allows vehicle owners to start the engine before entering the vehicle—as well as to activate the air conditioner, heater, defroster and defogger functions—so owners can have their vehicle ready and waiting with a comfortable interior temperature. And, because it’s fully integrated into the vehicle’s existing factory security/keyless entry system, there’s no need for an additional remote. The remote engine starter is operated by pushing the “lock” button on the keyless entry fob in a quick, three-step sequence: (1) push and release “lock” button; (2) push and release “lock” button again; (3) then push and hold “lock” button for three seconds—and the engine starts. The engine can also be stopped remotely by pushing the “unlock” button once, or by pushing and holding the lock button for two seconds or more.

Note: Applicable to only Automatic Transmission (A/T) models with remote keyless entry.

  • Enables owners to start the engine before entering the vehicle.
  • Designed to integrate seamlessly with the vehicle’s existing factory security/keyless entry system—no need for an additional remote; in comparison, aftermarket systems require an additional remote unit.
  • Engine starts with quick, three-step sequence using keyless entry fob.
  • Engine turns off automatically if the vehicle isn’t put in gear within 10 minutes of starting.
  • Can activate air conditioner, heater, defroster and defogger functions (when pre-set before exiting the vehicle), so owners can have their vehicle ready and waiting with a comfortable interior temperature.
  • Enhances comfort and convenience—especially on cold winter mornings or hot summer afternoons.
  • Premium accessory adds to the vehicle’s resale value.

    Mon, 09 Dec 2013

The Audi S3 Saloon (pictured) is now on sale in the UK If you want a relatively compact pocket rocket, Audi has you covered with the S3. So far, we’ve had the regular S3 and S3 Sportback (and the S3 Cabriolet is on the way), but if you prefer your S3 in a standard four-door saloon guise, you’re in luck – the Audi S3 Saloon has arrived in the UK. With the same 296bhp 2.0 litre TFSI engine as its S3 siblings, the S3 saloon offers strong performance – 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds – and an official combined economy of 40.9mpg (which means emissions of 159g/km (if you opt for the S Tronic gearbox).

    SEAT Leon gets an update

    Sun, 08 Feb 2009

SEAT Leon - Gets updated for 2009 [ad#ad-1] The SEAT Leon has been around for a few years now, and SEAT has decided it’s time for a facelift, so a revised Leon gets a debut at Geneva next month before appearing in showrooms in the Summer. SEATs, on the whole, are perceived as a cheaper alternative to a Golf, which is not a bad summation. Slightly cheaper materials, particularly noticeable on the interior plastics, differentiate the Spanish sibling from its German counterpart.

Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid at the Nurburgring – Video

    Wed, 28 Apr 2010

The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid Nurburgring video below In February we reported that Porsche has developed the unthinkable – a hybrid 911. But this wasn’t a hybrid 911 with a bank of batteries and a fluffy-bunny conscience, but a rampant track 911 with a great big electro-magnetic flywheel and a KERS-like thump of an extra 160bhp – the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid. The 911 GT3 R uses technology developed by Williams F1 and comprises of a pair of generators in the front wheels that shove energy to a composite flywheel (conveniently located next to the driver – not sure how well that would go down on a road0going version) which is the stored and can be thrown at the back wheels whenever the driver wants, in a way very similar to KERS.
