Mercedes S63 and S65 AMG debut at Shanghai
Mon, 20 Apr 2009Mercedes revealed the S63 and S65 AMG (pictured) at the Shanghai Motor Show today In yet another demonstration of how important emerging car markets are to premium car makers, Mercedes has chosen to unveil its top two S Class models – the Mercedes S63 AMG and the Mercedes S65 AMG - at the Shanghai Motor Show today. These range-topping S Class Mercedes get the same updates as the lesser siblings (and the Hybrid S400) we told you about a week ago. But this isn’t a new model – just a mid-cycle refresh of the S Class in general.
UK buyers plugging into electric cars
Wed, 07 May 2014Renault New figures suggest UK motorists are charged up about electric vehicles (EVs), with a record number of zero-emission cars now on Britain’s roads. Figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) suggest there are more than 10,000 electric cars on the road today, with as many as 1,200 EVs sold in March alone. In the midst of an EV revolution Compare that to the lowly 270 that were sold during the same month in 2013 and it becomes hard to argue that we’re not in the midst of an EV revolution, especially when you combine the figures with the 10,200 hybrid cars sold so far in 2014, up by 45% on last year.
Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster 722 S (2008): first official photos
Mon, 29 Sep 2008By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 29 September 2008 15:43 Not to be outdone by the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, this is Mercedes’ own ultra-fast open-top. Snappily named as the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster 722 S, it’s a convertible version of the special edition 722 variant. And yes, Merc is indeed eking all it can out of the SLR supercar before the SL Black and SLC/Gullwing arrive.
