Hospital staff face 'extortionate' parking charges

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

HOSPITAL bosses have been branded immoral for introducing "extortionate" parking charges for staff who need their cars for work. The union Unite said England should come in line with Scotland and Wales where NHS staff were not made to pay to park. The union was responding to South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust's decision last month to start charging health visitors and community nurses £1.20 an hour to park.

Ford KA sells 500,000 in the UK

Wed, 15 Jul 2009

Ford has racked up total sales of 500,000 KAs in the UK And despite a few reservations when we did our Ford KA Review a couple of months ago, it looks set to continue racking up the sales with the new KA, which has already racked up 11,000 sales in the UK since it was introduced. But it is undoubtedly a funky and capable little car that will serve Ford well.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class aerodynamics tested [w/video]

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

Mercedes-Benz has produced a video testing the aerodynamics of its new B-Class – which it claims is the most aerodynamically efficient car in the world – using a wind tunnel and fluorescent paint. The W245-generation B-Class has the lowest aerodynamic drag in its segment with a Cd of just 0.26, thanks to features such as serrated front wheel arch spoilers, optimized cooling airflow and a Pagoda roof to help airflow over its profile. The car's aero properties were put to the test at the MIRA vehicle test facility in the UK using fluorescent paint in 60mph winds to highlight its flow dynamics, only visible under UV lights.
