MG6 Launch revives Morris Garages moniker
Sun, 22 Nov 2009The new MG6 gets badged 'Morris Garages'. Life has not been easy over the last few years for MG. Or should I say what remains of MG after the debacle of the ‘Phoenix Four’ who took over MG Rover from BMW for a token £10 – and £425 million in working capital to boot – and set about selling off the rights to MG to the Chinese in the form of SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation).
Tata says hello with the Tata Nano Europa
Wed, 04 Mar 2009The Tata Nano Europa - expected to come to Europe as a sub £5k car [ad#ad-1] Tata has had a pretty torrid time of late, what with problems in India and the decimation of the world car markets, which has badly affected sales of its recently acquired Land Rover and Jaguar marques. The Nano Europa is the version of the little Tata that is going to be launched in Europe, and has just previewed at Geneva 2009.
Book captures Ford's Farley launching F-bomb at GM
Fri, 22 Jul 2011A new book about the Detroit auto industry rebuilding itself is showing that old rivalries are still alive and kicking in the Motor City. "We're going to beat on them, and it's going to be fun," the book quotes Jim Farley, Ford's group vice president of global marketing, sales and service, as saying.
