Honda HR-V small SUV debut at Paris Motor Show
Thu, 11 Sep 2014The Honda HR-V small SUV (pictured) debuts at Paris 2014 If the Honda HR-V name sounds familiar, that’s because Honda has already made an HR-V – a small supermini SUV – which arrived in 1999- but disappeared a few years later before the world fell in love with small, funky SUVs like the Nissan Juke and MINI Countryman. So having been in the small SUV market ahead of the curve – and dropping out again before the market took off – Honda has decided it’s time to bag a share of the seemingly ever-growing small SUV market – a market worth getting on for 100,000 sales a year in the UK – which means only one thing – an all new Honda HR-V. Due to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show next month, Honda are billing the HR-V as a concept, but as far as we can see it’s pretty much production ready, and will arrive in Honda’s UK showrooms in summer 2015.
Hyundai ix35 FCEV production starts – & previews the ix35 facelift?
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Hyundai has started production of the ix35 Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle which perhaps previews the facelift for the ix35. We revealed last year that Hyundai were pushing ahead with their hydrogen fuel cell cars (and eschewing battery EVs in the process) with plans to start rolling the Hyundai ix35 FCEV off the production line by the end of 2012. That plan slipped just a little, but the first ix35 FCEV has now rolled of the production line in Korea (pictured above) as Hyundai work towards full scale production of the ix35 FCEV by 2015.
Volkswagen NCC concept
Wed, 20 Jan 2010Volkswagen's New Compact Coupe (NCC) concept previews the next Jetta, but with two-doors rather than four. The car's front - minus the hybrid-style closed grille - pretty much represents the new face of the sixth-generation production Jetta due on sale this November, and its syling is informed by the latest Polo as well as some recent concepts from the German brand. Read our opinion of the NCC concept's design in our 2010 Detroit Auto Show Highlights, and see more photos of the showcar in the photo gallery below.
