Compatible with any PIEPS avalanche beacon, the iProbe One 260 revolutionizes avalanche search and rescue by building a low range beacon into the probe tip, widening your strike area while providing optical and acoustic feedback to help pinpoint burials. Especially handy in multiple burial scenarios, the iProbe disables found beacons to help aid in the search for the next victim. And of course, the iProbe 260 also functions as a standard probe, with a collapsible, easy to deploy design, wide-cone tip for penetrating avalanche debris, and added length for Rutschblock tests and other snowpack analysis.

But now, automatic gearboxes are so good they can change quicker than any driver and, with the proliferation of eight-speed auto ‘boxes, offer improved economy and performance too. The next logical step is even more ratios in an auto ‘box, and Land Rover has already revealed they’ll be fitting the Evoque with a 9-speed ZF ‘box from 2014, and the new Jeep Grand Cherokee gets a nine-speed auto ‘box too.
