look at the pictures for placement of fittings.this is a oil cooler that uses the coolant water to cool the outside finns of the oil cooler. coolant water circulates through the tank to cool the oil cooler inside.warms the transmission or oil faster to get to operating temp and then keeps fluid at desired operating tempuratures.more eficiant than air cooled coolers
