HERTZ TO OFFER ELECTRIC IMIEV HIRE

THE HERTZ Corporation has signed an agreement with Mitsubishi Motors in the UK to add the pure-electric vehicle (EV) i-MiEV city car to the fleets of Hertz and car sharing club Connect by Hertz in the UK. The rollout has already begun with two Mitsubishi i-MiEVs now available for Connect by Hertz members to zip around London. Hertz plans to add further i-MiEVs to its fleets throughout the year across the UK, as well as offering vehicles for corporate and university pool fleets.

The Limited Edition Peugeot RCZ at Frankfurt The 200 number is in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Peugeot being established as a trading entity (a manufacturing company then – but not of cars, unless we’ve got our history in a muddle) and can be ordered at the show or on Peugeot’s web site. Call for ban on in-car hands-free phones

Road safety charity Brake is calling for a blanket ban on in-car hands-free phone systems. Using a hand-held phone while driving is already illegal in the UK, so a proposal to prohibit even hands-free kits would completely eradicate calling from behind the wheel.
