One Lap of the Web: Wax that woody; Bentley gets high-tech
Thu, 22 May 2014-- Bentley comes striding into the 21st century with a Mulsanne souped up with no fewer than two keyboard-equipped iPads in the backseat, hidden behind veneered wood inlays. In a short film titled "Intelligent Details" -- one must assume Bentley marketers had to resist the urge to call it "Intelligent Design" -- Luc Donckerwolke, director of design, and Sang Yup Lee, head of exterior design, go for a ride in black-and-white Manhattan. But the history of 4WD goes back, certainly in the case of Mercedes, a surprising 105 years when Daimler built the Dernburg-Wagen, a 4WD vehicle that not only got all-wheel drive but all wheel steering too.
Lincoln MKC [w/Gallery]
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Lincoln has unveiled its new MKC concept at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The brand's first-ever small vehicle, which signals its intention to enter the industry's fastest-growing segment, continues Lincoln's design language first seen in the MKZ. The signature split-wing grille integrates the headlamps and sits above a broad horizontal air intake and underbody protection while a large panoramic roof runs along the length of the car.
