Audi to hold Urban Future Summit

Aiming to further the thinking initiated at the inaugural Urban Future Awards last year, 2011 will see Audi hold the Urban Future Summit on September 12 in Frankfurt, just prior to the start of the 64th international motor show. The symposium will feature presentations from internationally renowned speakers on the future of individual mobility in megacities, with participants from all over the world. The goal of the summit is to ‘build knowledge networks', focusing on the subject of "Energies - what forces will change the cities of the future?" Expert speakers such as Saskia Sassen, Carlo Ratti, Ludger Hovestadt and Charles Leadbeater will be among those who will discuss how mobility and the urban space must develop to meet the demands of future cities.

Alfa Romeo MiTo Live launches

Alfa Romeo has launched a limited edition MiTo – the MiTo Live – with a Pioneer App radio and Marmalade ‘Black Box’ Insurance aimed at new drivers. So on the engine front the MiTo Live gets Alfa’s 875cc two-cylinder turbo – a crackingly good little engine – which delivers up a modest, but fun, 85bhp with emissions of 98g/km and the promise of 67.3mpg if you drive like a saint. Lamborghini teased a new ‘Super Sports Car’ for Frankfurt last week, and we mulled over the possibilities of what Lamborghini were going to reveal. But what we didn’t consider was a last-hurrah for the Gallardo in the form of the Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo. We speculated that Lamborghini may be taking a production version of the Sesto Elemento to Frankfurt.
