The Nissan X-Trail gets a facelift for 2011 You could be forgiven for thinking that Nissan has lost interest in it’s ‘proper’ SUV/4x4s, being interested only in its crossovers – the Nissan Qashqai and soon to be launched Nissan Juke. Nissan’s refusal to bring it’s desert-crushing Patrol to the UK would seem to reinforce the thought, but despite perceptions Nissan are about to launch the 2011 Nissan X-Trail facelift. The X-Trail is an on-road offroader in the old fashioned sense; not a crossover.

Hyundai has opened a new flagship showroom in Romford, Essex, boasting the largest showroom of any UK Hyundai dealers. Deep in the heart of south Essex lies a golden triangle – bounded by Romford, Brentwood and Chigwell – where the wildlife sports orange plumage and fluorescent teeth and endless worker ants stream in to the great metropolis down the A12 to earn a crust in their daily grind. Top Gear tackle a live Volcano in a Toyota in Iceland Top Gear is off air at the moment – if you don’t count the endless repeats on BBC2, BBC3 and Dave – and that usually means that the boys are off somewhere exotic. And so they are – this time to an active volcano in Iceland. It looks as if the boys have take the same Toyota they used in the trip to the North Pole – with May and Clarkson in the Toyota and Hamster on a sled – and done a modification or three to suit the heat instead of the cold.
