You are buying a 35-38 Ford flathead oil pan there is some rust thru spots on the starter cap and I see no other rust thru spots there is some light surface rust this has been hanging in an old barn for many years. The Cross Polo (we’d expected it to be the ‘CrossPolo’ as the Germans like to run words together, like ‘BlueEfficiency’ or EfficientDynamics, but the graphics on the Polo make it clear it’s the ‘Cross Polo’) is the latest version of the 2010 Polo to be revealed. Just this week we’ve had the 2010 Polo GTI and the 2010 VW Polo BlueMotion (see – it’s those joined together names again) and the Cross Polo makes the hat trick for pre-Geneva.

The MK II Granada was a perfectly decent big Ford in the days Ford made big cars. Wallowy, yes, but better as the 2.8i than the 2.8 and even quite fun in a ‘piloting a barge’ sort of way.

With new cars like the V40, a new range of 4-cylinder engines and a new design direction – previewed by the stunning Volvo Concept Coupe – the Swedes look to be on a roll. But their strategy of pointing their cars at premium car lovers in the mainstream segment seemed to have taken a left turn with a revelation by Geely and Volvo Chairman, Li Shufu, who has declared Volvo are to build a luxury car to take on the might of the Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8, BMW 7-Series and Jaguar XJ.
