2015 Subaru WRX debuts at Los Angeles Auto Show

If you loved the rakish WRX concept that bowed in New York earlier this year, the production 2015 WRX, which debuted today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, may be a slight downer: decidedly less boy-racer than its predecessors, its sculpted fender flares and unique sheetmetal only slightly disguise its Impreza rootstock. But the WRX has always been more about performance than style, anyway, and Subaru says the new car will top its predecessor on that front. The '14 WRX's 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer-four squeezes out 268 hp and 258 lb-ft -- just a little bit more than the outgoing 2.5-liter turbo-equipped car.

Lexus HS 250h

Toyota's Lexus division unveiled the HS 250h at the 2009 NAIAS. The new mid-sized hybrid will sit between the smaller IS and larger ES models in the company's portfolio, bearing an all-new design with a best-in-class drag coefficient of 0.27 (better than that of the new Prius).  For additional details on the new car and to see our own unique photographs, read our 2009 Detroit Auto Show Highlights. Nissan Juke-R is prepared for its heart transplant: Video

Nissan, in its quest to make the craziest compact car in the world, has released another video of the Nissan GT-R-to-Juke engine transplant. The video shows some of the frame cutting that needed to be done to fit the twin-turbocharged V6 into the Juke small crossover, along with the roll cage being welded in. Jigs are also attached to keep the frame straight while the work is going on.
