4 Gauge wires used to power a 1500 Watt inverter. A set of jumper cables (new at the time) was used to make these connectors.

The long pair is about 12 feet and the shorter pair about 7 feet.

I used the entire length and later on shortened it to increase efficiency.

At one end of each are the original connectors that I flattened and modified to attach to the inverter.

Also included is a 100 amp fuse and holder. Over time, the holder melted. It still worked fine when removed. The fuse can be removed by hitting one end with a piece of wood and a motivated individual wold probably be able to salvage the holder with a wire brush. This is a freebie with absolutely no guarantees.

Please be very careful when dealing with inverters. I recommend you do your homework and attach the appropriate fuse to the line.

Thank you for reading my post.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

Mazda MX-5 Superlight leaks

Sat, 12 Sep 2009

Official pictures of the MX-5 Superlight Concept have leaked out ahead of Frankfurt We don’t think Mazda are intending building the MX-5 Superlight, it’s more a way of showcasing what can be achieved by radical weight saving. But don’t quote us on that. If Mazda gets big positive feedback they’ll probably turn it in to a production model despite their assertions it’s just a concept.

Call for Entries: CDN-GM Interactive Design Competition 2012

Fri, 06 Jul 2012

With temperatures soaring across North America, there's no better time to hunker down in an air-conditioned room with your pen, vellum, and markers (or, more realistically, your computer and tablet) and get working on your entries into the GM Interactive Design Competition 2012.  It's only been a month since the official launch of the 2012 GM Interactive Design Competition and we're already seeing strong participation and a very high level of quality for the entries. Open to all full-time college or university students from across the US and Canada, this competition is a great way to gain exposure, but also to keep up and improve your skills over the summer. With five paid internships (housing included) at GM's studios in Warren, MI up for grabs, there's no better launchpad for your career in the automotive industry, and getting your entries online early also gives you a head-start on the competition by allowing the public and mentors to critique and review your work.
