This 4" system features an upper strut spacer combined with the rear block kit to not only make for an easy install, but ensure factory ride quality. Combine these factors with the massive crosmembers, CNC machined steering knuckles and differential skid plate and you have a suspension system that can't be beat. A rear add-a-leaf is available for a tail high stance.

The intrepid Bimmerphiles over at www.e90post.com have uncovered a few drawings from BMW's latest patent request. The drawing shows a new transmission linkage and what looks to be a seven-speed manual transmission. Like the new Porsche 911, the BMW gear shifter has six gears in standard H pattern, with a seventh gear out to the right.

Volvo will discontinue the S40 sedan and the V50 wagon for the 2012 model year in the United States. The second-generation S40 came out in 2004, and the V50 debuted in 2005. According to Volvo spokesman Dan Johnston, S40 sales were down 29 percent by the end of last year and V50 sales were down more than 50 percent.
