The Aviator snow goggle from 509 features a design inspired by the face shield of a jet fighter pilot. This unique styling brought from the aviation industry, provides not only a futuristic appearance, but more importantly performs even better in even the harshest winter conditions.

The Aviator is engineered using a 'rimless' frame design. This sleek design minimizes the amount of goggle frame in your field of vision. By reducing the thickness of the frame, we are able to use a much larger spherical lens without increasing the overall footprint of the goggle. This maximizes the goggles lens to frame size ratio, providing industry leading peripheral vision.

The problem with traditional goggles is they tend to restrict your vision. We addressed this concern head on and focused on designing a snowmobile specific goggle around the absolute largest lens possible. The result is an unprecedented clear view, never before provided in a snow goggle.

The 509 Aviator Goggle is a high end goggle built with only the best materials and craftsmanship. We spared no expense and cut no corners in the design and development of this goggle. The attention to detail is second to none. Aside from the unique rimless design, and oversized spherical lens, we also focused on improving the strap. The 509 Aviator goggle features a 2" wide strap with triple silicon lining that provides even greater helmet grip. Instead of a traditional sewn strap design, we developed a "509" chrome strap emblem attached with a real leather backing. 509 Aviators also come standard with our famous removable nose mask, which keep you comfortable even in the coldest conditions. They also come standard with oversized triple layer face foam.

Fog Free Technology:
509 has worked closely with the world leader in military & medical anti-fog hard coatings to develop a proprietary, goggle specific, anti-fog technology. This 509 exclusive, fog free lens treatment was derived from a recent breakthrough in military and medical anti-fog treatment technology that was released in late 2012. Through 509's close alliance with the world leader in anti-fog technologies, we were able to develop a snow goggle specific, proprietary version of this exciting new anti-fog technology.
509 has worked closely with the world leaders in optical lens materials and anti-fog technology to develop a proprietary, goggle specific anti-fog treatment. Unlike traditional anti-fog treatments that are simply an applied coating layer, 509 fog free technology is a chemically applied treatment which modifies the lens material's surface, giving it long lasting anti-fog properties. Where traditional coatings fall short in terms of effectiveness and longevity, 509 fog free technology shines. The advantage of 509's chemically bonded fog free lens treatment, over traditional anti-fog layer coatings is significant. It's an advantage you'll notice on the first day you ride, all the way to the last day of the season!

Dodge Avenger replacement could go rear-wheel drive

Mon, 20 Jul 2009

Chrysler is pondering a shakeup for its midsize-sedan lineup. The Dodge Avenger replacement would shift to rear-wheel drive, and the next Chrysler Sebring would be based on a Fiat platform in an effort to differentiate two cars that currently share the same underpinnings, Automotive News reports. The Avenger replacement could be based on a modified Challenger platform, which itself is a modified version of the Charger and Chrysler 300 platform.

Japan hopes to make EV recharging technology the global standard

Tue, 16 Mar 2010

Japan's automakers aim to cement their lead in electric vehicles by making Japanese recharging technology the global standard and bringing it to the United States. A coalition of manufacturers, including Nissan and Toyota, is teaming with Japan's biggest electric company and the government to make it happen. They aim to corner the market on one of the technologies that will be key to the eventual acceptance of electric-powered cars: the high-speed charging points that will act like gasoline stations of the future and enable drivers to recharge and keep driving after their batteries run low.

Remember this day in GM history: The next century of automotive success starts now

Mon, 30 Mar 2009

President Obama's administration made history today with what some see as nothing short of government meddling in the affairs of big business. What I see is something else: I see the administration showing that it is serious and raising the level of concern from yellow to orange. Now there is a firm deadline and a message to bondholders, United Auto Worker union members and the American public: Do not be surprised if in the next 30 days--or even sooner-General Motors files for a controlled bankruptcy.
