Winners of the 'Ultimate LA Machine' Design Challenge announced

 The judges of the Los Angeles Auto Show's Design Challenge have named the Dodge Superbee and Volkswagen Mobile Lounge as joint-winners of the first ever automobile design studio competition. Designer Reto Brun of Volkswagen/Audi Design Center California said his studio considered two Los Angeles issues when designing the Volkswagen Mobile Lounge - an antidote to traffic and a better option for the area's "limo-centric" entertainment culture. 2010 Chevrolet Equinox gets price cut from GM

The 2010 Chevrolet Equinox will carry a base price of $23,185, including its delivery fee, when the crossover goes on sale in June. The restyled, re-engineered Equinox will cost $1,800 less than the previous generation, Ed Peper, vice president of Chevrolet, said today in a statement. General Motors has said it hopes the Equinox will get 30 mpg highway, up from 24 mpg on the base model of the 2009 version.

Mini celebrates 10 years in U.S. with cross-country rally

Mini will kick off its biggest road rally in America, called Mini Takes the States, on the East Coast on July 4. It will conclude at the Pacific Ocean on July 15. The biannual rally will celebrate all things Mini as the company marks its 10-year anniversary in the United States.
